Why did Kakashi kill Rin?
Madara had white zetsu clone kakashi & rin so obito thinks it's really happening (while kakashi & rin could not even be there.. she could've died at a whole other time) or maybe just cloned kakashi, or somehow tricked the real kakashi & had him kill rin. it seems a little too coincidental that kakashi & rin would just happen to come near where obito was. obviously with them dead that would leave obito with no love, no friends & no reason to return to the leaf & also could lead him to want revenge etc basically it could benefit madara in a lot of ways. with no other info, there's no reason to think it's really kakashi that kille

Is pain stronger than madara?
Madara is the main head honcho of Akatsuki and was using Pein. Pein is a lot weaker than Madara (come on it's Uchiha Madara!) Madara wanted to use the Rinnegan so that in case he "dies" or gets critically injured, Pein could "revive" him from the dead. That's all but Madara isn't too concerned for that loss. He's strong, and he's got Sasuke manipulated so yeah he's unstoppable at the moment. Plus he can manipulate the Kyuubi.
---Extra edit: Madara knew of the 6 paths and of course since the sharigan and byakugan are derived from the ultimate eye justu the Rinnegan. He knew the sharigan is inferior to the Rinnegan (however you spell it). Madara only says Sasuke is hard to manipulate because the idiot jumps to many conclusions so convincing Sasuke that he's the "good" guy proves to be difficult because Sasuke would think Madara drove Itachi to be killed (i can't think straight at the moment btw). Keep in mind even if Madara couldn't defeat the gamabunta, Pein wasn't emotionally stable or mentally for that matter. That was Pein's weakness. He thought himself a god and the divine being that can bring peace. Because of this, Pein didn't use his Rinnegan to it's full capacity. In addition, Naruto convinced Pein to aid Konoha and use his Rinnegan to revive the fallen. Pein sees what Jirayai actually wanted to achieve so his betrayal was he wasn't going to help Madara should the Uchiha almost die. Pein was sickly too and already weak from all the chakra he was using. Madara also manipulated Pein to some extent and he knew he couldn't keep hold on everyone on Akatsuki since he was "Tobi". Losing Pein was somewhat of a great loss but what can he do? Just advance with the plans and do with what he has. I'm sure Madara is strong even without the Rinnegan or the 6 paths. If he wasn't then his fight would suck. Also he has the power of the collected 7 beasts to aid him. That's gonna be one hell of a power to compete with when there's only 8 tails and Kyuubi left. Ok I can't explain anymore...my brain is at it's limit :S

Overview
Akatsuki, at any given point in time, is composed of no more than ten primary members. There is no known criterion required for joining the organization, though all known members have severed all ties with the village they grew up in and are S-class criminals, the most wanted and dangerous individuals in the series.[1]
Two members, Itachi Uchiha and Sasori are known to have undertaken a challenging task around the time of their joining the organization: Itachi killed almost all the members of his family in a single night,[2] though it is unclear what his true reasons for doing this were. Sasori, during the course of the battle in which he eventually meets his demise, comments that "[he] hadn't had this much difficulty since joining Akatsuki". In Deidara's case, however, he was forcibly recruited by other Akatsuki members as a result of his effective work as a terrorist.[3]
Members of Akatsuki work in teams of two. Teams are built to complement each other's abilities and talents to create a formidable duo. For example, Kakuzu and Hidan use Hidan's immortality to their advantage by using large-scale attacks on those Hidan has pinned down; being immortal, Hidan survives what is normally fatal to his opponent. Zetsu is an exception to this, as he operates by himself at all times. Members whose partners have died also operate by themselves until a replacement can be found. If there is a need for the group to have more of an interaction with each other, members can use a form of astral projection to meet at one of Akatsuki's many secret lairs. When their entire group meets like this at the end of the first part of the series, one member notes that it had been seven years since they had all been together in such a fashion.[7] Their meetings are much more frequent in the second part of the series due to their increased activity.

Akatsuki members dress in similar clothing: a long, dark cloak bearing red clouds and a red interior with a chin-high collar. All members also wear nail polish of varying colors on their fingernails and toenails. When starting a mission they wear large conical straw hats with small spike-like bells hanging from them to block their faces, but the hats are discarded once they have been discovered. In addition to this more standard wardrobe, members continue to wear forehead protectors from their former home villages, but scratch a line across the their village's symbol. This is done to indicate that their ties to the village have been severed and they no longer give allegiance to their former homes. Not all members have their headband visible, and Hidan's headband does not correspond to any known village.
Each Akatsuki member wears a single, unique ring, and no two members wear a ring on the same finger. In total, there are ten rings, and each seems to have some special significance; Tobi believes that he can become a member after finding Sasori's ring,[8] and although Zetsu claims it's not as easy as that, Tobi does indeed become a member. By using the tailed beasts, Akatsuki can start wars and then immediately quell them, solidifying their reputation and convincing every country to depend on them. Without any business, the other shinobi villages would collapse due to a lack of funds. Finally, after Akatsuki is the only major shinobi force in existence, they could easily conquer the other countries.[12] Despite the severity of this plan, members do not automatically learn of it upon joining; Hidan did not find out about it until asking.

Each Akatsuki member is assigned to capture alive one of the nine beasts or, in most cases, the person that beast has been sealed into.[13] Akatsuki has so far obtained seven of the nine: the One-Tailed Shukaku, the Two-Tailed Demon Cat, the three-tailed beast, the four-tailed beast, and three others.[14]

For the sealing, nine dragon-like effigies pour from the statue's mouth to surround the captured host and forcefully remove the tailed beast from them and seal it into the statue. Which is better naruto or bleach?
In my eyes both of the anime's / manga's have there own good points and bad points...like with bleach its based and mainly showed to people of a teen age, but with naruto, almost all ages can watch. And it depends on what type of story lines u like, bleach would be more like blood and team work + the great struggle that in the end is worth it...with some times the sadness of a lost one and of course the jokes and laughs. Naruto is a bit like bleach but there are more jokes for the younger audience and a bit of love for older people and the old blood and struggle..but with naruto because the whole big sad dramatic fight scene doesn't happen every 3 episodes / chapters the impact of the great emotion behind it is allot more deepening that bleach, but the excitement of the fights that bleach show are high standard especially when they leave the most important bit of the fight till the next episode / chapter ( keeping the watcher / reader hocked to the book )

Is naruto weaker than sasuke?

Naruto ended at episode 220 with Naruto and Jiraiya leaving Konoha to train together to become stronger. Naruto Shippuden starts off with Naruto returning to Konoha after 2 and a half years of training under Jiraiya. Turns out that everyone else was training just as hard as Naruto. That's basically what happened.
Although Naruto episodes 1 - 135 are the actual episodes. If you want you don't have to watch episodes 136 - 220 cause those are filler episodes. Just put in place to keep the pace and distance from the manga. If you are done episode 135 you can start Naruto Shippuden. However if you want to see Naruto leaving Konoha, you have to watch episode 220 of Naruto -- or better yet, watch the very last arc.

How come Naruto has is mom's last name and not his dad's?
Well to your first question,ya most of the time the child,usally takes the fathers name,but obivously not in this case. The reason is because Narutos father didn't want anyone knowing that he had a son. He didn't want to let is enemys know that he had a family,because if they were to find out it could work against him and be is weakness,as they were target his family. Well to your first question,ya most of the time the child,usally takes the fathers name,but obivously not in this case. The reason is because Narutos father didn't want anyone knowing that he had a son. He didn't want to let is enemys know that he had a family,because if they were to find out it could work against him and be is weakness,as they were target his family. Naruto is probably the most high prediction of couples ever.... i have no problem with the other predictions of couples fans seems to predict such as NaruSaku, NaruHina, SasuSaku, but there are three couples whom fans predict that are or going to be a couple and that is NarSasu, NenjHina, and Sakura and Itachi, words cant explain how wrong these predictions are of a couple, First naruto and sasuke will never happen!!!! neither naruto or sasuke are gay!!!!! its explain in the first series that naruto had a crush on sakura then in the second series naruto explain how he felt about sakura in Shippuden episode 235, and it also shows that naruto is not gay in the episode when sai try to kiss naruto and naruto said he is not into stuff like that so that explain he is not gay, and the only reason naruto is chasing after sasuke is because he wants to save him revenge and wants to share the burden of hatred with him as a friend he feels like he and sasuke has something in common and also feels that sasuke is like a brother to him.... thats why he would fight him even if he would die he would die with him as a friend because he feels sasuke pain.... And also sasuke is not gay!!!!! yes he sees no interest in females and is not affected when naruto uses his sexy justu on him but that doesnt mean he is gay people.... THE TOP 10 NARUTO COUPLES
10. Gaara & Matsuri
The first couple on my list, I haven't even really been properly introduced to yet. From what I can gather, Matsuri is one of Gaara's fangirls in Shippuden and ends up becoming his student. It's a little weird to like a mentor/student relationship as a couple, but for these two it just seems to work. The age difference isn't that different, is it? Gaara's only 17-ish, while Matsuri is like 12. Only 5 years! And Matsuri definitely has a major crush on Gaara, and I could see Gaara liking her back. This couple is just super sweet and I love them. Still, it does seem to be a bit one-sided...like, waay one-sided...(though all Naruto couples tend to be that way...)
9. Kiba & Hinata
This couple is also adorable. The only reason they're so low down is because I kind of see them as a bit of a sibling like relationship, with only minor hints of something more. Still, I feel like Kiba understands Hinata and protects her. He actually knows her, unlike Naruto. And Hinata is definitely sweet and soft-spoken enough to offset Kiba's brash and instinctive behavior. They'd be a really cute couple- admit it. I love how protective and caring Kiba is towards Hinata and how he actually understands her. I could totally imagine these two as a cute married couple, just saying.

That being said, Naruto did beat Kiba by a little bit as a match for Hinata. I don't really know why. I guess I just want Hinata to get what she wants- she deserves it. And he deserves a girl who will love him despiet his flaws and will encourage him. He can be the outspoken one in the relationship and he can help build Hinata's confidence. Hinata can be the patient one on the relationship and can help Naruto learn how to think before he acts. All Hinata needs to do is TALK TO HIM.

I know these two never were a couple, but Rin always did like Kakashi as a kid. And it was never said that Rin died, was it? She could always come back and Kakashi and Rin could live happily ever after. That is, if any couple is allowed to live happily ever after in this series...anyway, I just want someone cool for Kakashi and Rin totally fits that. And Rin deserves someone awesome too.

It took me till Shippuden to see this- but now that I do it seems so obvious. Naruto's a sweet guy and has always been there for Sakura- no matter what it might cost him. But now Naruto has matured and Sakura is seeing what was always right in front of her for the first time. Naruto would die for her. And I think she's become a much stronger and more capable women through her training with Tsunade. These two are the "friends turned to something more" relationship that I really love. They're just so cute. And unlike some of these other couples- these two know each other. It's not just blind infatuation or admiration. These two have love, it's just a question of what kind of love that is.

These two are practically canon. In my imagination, anyway. Neji is a cold, distant, aloof, but secretly sweet guy. He tries so hard to defy his destiny and be the best he can be. Tenten is vastly underrated, ignored, and underestimated. And she's a total tomboy, who tries to be so strong. They are both desperate to prove themselves. And they're best friends. They do everything with their teams, so they have to be friends. Gai and Lee are a bit of...well, weirdos. So these two have bonded together because they have to. They're best friends and there is totally something more going on. So cute!
4. Sasuke & Sakura
Honestly, I have no idea why I like this couple. I guess it's because I'm so intrigued by it. Sakura always blindly loved Sasuke before she met him. She was infatuated with him- she was a preteen girl. But then they met each other and became friends. They fought for each other and protected each other. Or- Sasuke protected Sakura anyway. Then they split up but they still love each other- it's obvious. Sakura would do ANYTHING to save Sasuke- and it's not just for the infatuation anymore. It's totally love. As for Sasuke, Sakura touches a nerve in him that no one else can (except maybe Naruto). Now can't they just play nice and fall in love already?
3. Lee & Hinata
I know, I know. This is a total crack pair. Do they even talk in the anime? Probably not. But yet I love these two so dearly. They're both underdogs who are extremely desperate to prove themselves. Lee was constantly picked on and Hinata was pressured by her dad. And they would perfectly compliment each other. Hinata's patience, wisdom, and kindness could help to encourage Lee's ego and also balance out his energy. Lee's bravery, gentleman behavior, and kindness could also help Hinata's confidence and she deserves a nice guy. I feel like Lee is like Naruto but less annoying and more sweet. Marginally. Anyway, these two are just perfect.
2. Shikamaru & Ino
I'm not a Shikamaru & Temari supporter, I just don't but it. But these two I have liked since the very first episode they were in together. They have that "hate-love" relationship as well as a "friend to lover" relationship. THEY HAVE THE TWO MOST EPIC KIND OF ROMANCES. They're childhood friends and they just 'get' each other. Shikamaru needs a domineering woman- one that's not willing to let him slack off. Ino would totally do that. Ino needs a nice intelligent guy who will treat her right and bring out the best in her. Shikamaru could do that. And they just KNOW each other so well...they wouldn't have anything to hide. Can this please happen?

But there's no Sasuke or Hinata to get in the way (ignoring Orochimaru). Jiraiya definitely still likes Tsunade, even if he can't say it. And despite her pride, Tsunade loves Jiraiya. They just needed to tell each other!!! They're best friends, they love each other, and they're both at the age where they can't afford to wait. So why didn't they get together? It's so sad! :(

Recently, in the manga, it is evident that Naruto cares about Hinata. He even held her hand when sharing the Kyubi's chakra with her. So it's fair to say that Naruto loves Hinata more than he does Sakura.
It should also be noted that Sakura's love for Sasuke has always been expressed far more than her "love" for Naruto (she loves Naruto, but more so in a friendly way), and with Sasuke recently turning back into a "good guy" and helping the shinobi alliance figjt Obito, Madara, and the Ten Tails. Masashi Kishimoto says that he is planning to end Naruto and that he has the last episode all figured out in advance. He said that not only does he know how this infamous saga will end, he also knows exactly how each scene will look like and has the lines for each character clearly planned out.

One thing's for sure, though. Each new episode is one episode closer to the end of the series, and that is all we would claim with certainty.

In order to have a rinnegan you need to be an uzamaki which nagato was if you see the color of his hair and it spikes at the end because he has it flat like narutos mother you need to have uchiha bloodline or to get an implant. when madara or tobi was fighting the girl that used to be a member (forgot the name srry). He said he was going to take what was rightfully his so it means at one point tobi gave some of his powers. so thats 2 things u need then u must watch a comrade or family that is dear die in front of u to feel pain then u just loose control. Description of our hero 'Naruto'
Naruto Uzumaki is introduced as a dingus boy with blonde, spiky hair and blue eyes. He frequently wears an orange jumpsuit. Following his ninja graduation he also wore a headband that denotes his position as a ninja from Konohagakure. In Part II of the manga, which features an older Naruto, he wears a new outfit as a result of his physical growth. The Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed in Naruto influences his body, causing him to resemble the Fox over the course of his battles. While initially Naruto only shows small changes such as sharp teeth and claws, he later develops a red tail made of the Fox's vital energy, or chakra. The red chakra starts by surrounding his body; once four tails are manifested, Naruto's blood starts merging with the chakra, coloring his entire body red. As the sixth tail appears, Naruto appears to wear the Fox's skeleton. Once Naruto takes control of the Fox's chakra, he is able to maintain his regular form while using it. As a ninja, Naruto carries many weapons, but relies mostly on his ninja techniques while fighting, specializing in making clones of himself.
Introduced as a childish joker, Naruto seeks attention because he was being ridiculed in his childhood. To be respected, he resolves to become Konohagakure's Hokage and surpass all the previous leaders e.g Dotun no matter the difficulties. While becoming a ninja, Naruto forms friendships he initially lacked, linking some of them to family relationships. Although Naruto sometimes finds himself unable to accomplish the tasks he proposes to do, characters believe that Naruto will be an excellent Hokage because of his positive impact on their lives.

Naruto is an orphan who, as a newborn, had the dangerous Nine-Tailed Demon Fox sealed within his body by the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, the leader of Konoha's ninja force, at the cost of his own life. Because he became a Jinchuriki to the Nine Tails, Naruto was ridiculed by most of Konoha's residents during his early childhood. Since then, Naruto has commonly made jokes and played pranks to attract attention. Desiring what he lacked in early life, Naruto dreams of becoming Hokage the village leader with the hope that it will bring him the villagers' recognition and respect. In an attempt to become a ninja, Naruto is horrified to learn that of the Nine-Tails sealed inside him, but finds acceptance from his teacher Iruka Umino, whom he views as a father. After learning the powerful move Shadow Clone Technique, which creates physical copies of the user, Naruto becomes a ninja. He joins a ninja group under the leadership of Kakashi Hatake, where Naruto gains the friends he lacked during his childhood in his fellow classmates who also joined the established Team 7: Sasuke Uchiha, with whom he has a rivalry with since they first met at the ninja academy, and Sakura Haruno, on whom he has a crush.While going through an exam to increase his ninja rank, Naruto meets the legendary ninja Jiraiya and learns how to summon toads to aid him in battle and to control part of the Nine Tails's chakra energy. The exams are interrupted as a result of the invasion of Konohagakure by the criminal Orochimaru and Sunagakure, with Naruto defeating the sand village's One Tail Jinchuriki Gaara and convincing him of a better way to live. Shortly afterward, Naruto discovers the Akatsuki, a criminal organization that seeks to extract the Nine-Tails from his body. Though Jiraiya drives them off during this first meeting, the Akatsuki still plan to kidnap Naruto. While accompanying Jiraiya to find a new leader for the village, Naruto also learns the Rasengan, a sphere of chakra for offensive purposes. When Sasuke leaves the village to join Orochimaru's forces, Naruto becomes part of a rescue team to retrieve him. Naruto and Sasuke ultimately have a one-on-one battle, though neither can convince himself to finish off the other. The two go their separate ways, but Naruto does not give up on Sasuke, leaving Konohagakure with Jiraiya to prepare himself for his next encounter with Sasuke and the Akatsuki.
After his two and a half years of training, Naruto returns to Konohagakure, and begins to deal more actively with the Akatsuki threat by first saving Gaara from their clutches, To fight them, Naruto trains with Kakashi to infuse the Rasengan with his own wind-element chakra, creating the Rasen-Shuriken attack that proves instrumental in the downfall of the Akatsuki member Kakuzu. Despite being targeted by the Akatsuki, Naruto dedicates himself to finding and retrieving Sasuke.
Over time, though revisiting the urge to use the creature's power, the Nine Tails's influence over him expands to the point where he begins to lose his rationality as more chakra manifests in the form of tails to the point the Tailed Beast can take control of his body. After learning that Jiraiya has been killed by the Akatsuki leader, Pain, Naruto prepares for a future encounter by learning toad-style Senjutsu, a power-enhancing ability involving the gathering of natural energy. When they finally face off, Naruto defeats Pain and convinces him to quit Akatsuki. At that time, Naruto learns that the Fourth Hokage was his father who sealed the Fox so that Naruto could use it to defeat the Akatsuki founder Tobi who was behind the Fox's attack on Konohagakure.
When Naruto discovers Sasuke's past role within the Akatsuki, he decides to confront Sasuke in battle which could end in both their deaths should Naruto be unable to save him. As a result, he prepares himself for the upcoming fights by becoming a student under the Eight Tails' host Killer Bee to take full control of the Nine-Tails' powers. He succeeds with help from his late mother, Kushina Uzumaki, who placed a chakra imprint of herself within the seal. When Naruto learns that all his comrades are battling Tobi's army to protect him, he takes Killer Bee to join the battle, eventually cooperating with the Nine-Tails to engage Tobi before learning of his identity as Obito Uchiha, a student under his father alongside Kakashi. Across the battle, Naruto joins forces with the ninja army to defeat Obito. However, Naruto loses Kurama when it is taken by Obito's ally, Madara Uchiha, and is left nearly dead with what may be his last chance for survival taken when Kurama's Yin half, sealed within his reanimated father's body, is taken by Black Zetsu.

As the series' title character, Naruto appears in every movie in the series. He typically appears as the lead character on a mission with comrades from Konohagakure. Naruto: Shippūden the Movie marks the first appearance of Naruto in his Part II appearance. He also appears in all four original video animations produced for the series: helping his friend Konohamaru Sarutobi find a four-leaf clover in the first; escorting a ninja to his village and fighting the criminal who stole the village's "Hero's Water" in the second;, participating in a tournament in the third and working with Team 7 in the fourth one. He appears as a supporting character in the spin-off manga titled Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals where his fellow Konohagakure ninja Rock Lee is the main character.Naruto is a playable character in the Naruto video games. In several titles, it is possible to access a special version of him enhanced with the power from the Nine-Tailed Fox. In several games from the Ultimate Ninja series he is playable with his own versions of Rock Lee and Might Guy's techniques while wearing their costume.Naruto Shippūden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX marks the first appearance of Naruto in his Part II appearance in a video game. For the series' 10th anniversary, Masashi Kishimoto made an illustration of Naruto as Hokage. This portrayal of Naruto later appears as a secret character in the game Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. He appears in several crossover video games that feature Naruto fighting against characters from other manga; these games include Battle Stadium D.O.N, Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars. A Naruto avatar made a guest appearance in the MMORPG Second Life for a Jump Festa promotion titled Jumpland@Second Life. In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Naruto's costume is set to appear as an alternate costume for Goku.

Naruto (ナルト) is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The plot tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and dreams to become the Hokage, the ninja in his village who is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. The series is based on a one-shot comic by Kishimoto that was published in the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.
A giant, powerful fox known as the Nine-Tails attacks the ninja village Konoha, killing many people. In response, the leader of Konoha– the Fourth Hokage– seals the fox inside the newborn Naruto Uzumaki at the cost of his life. The Kohona community regards Naruto as if he were the Nine-Tails itself and often ridicules him throughout most of his childhood. A decree made by the current Kage, the Third Hokage, forbids anyone mentioning the attack of the Nine-Tails to anyone else. This includes Naruto, who is unaware of the fox inside of him. Twelve years later, Naruto is tricked by the renegade ninja Mizuki into stealing a forbidden scroll that would teach him a secret ninja technique, but he is stopped by his teacher, Iruka Umino. When Iruka almost dies while protecting Naruto from Mizuki, who also reveals that he is the container of the Nine-Tailed Fox, Naruto uses the Jutsu he learned from the scroll that creates multiple clones of himself, Shadow Clone Technique, to defeat Mizuki.
Naruto is assigned alongside Sasuke Uchiha, whom he often competes against, and Sakura Haruno, whom he has a crush on, to form a three-person team named Team 7 under an experienced and severe sensei, the elite ninja Kakashi Hatake. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7 is charged with completing missions requested by villagers, such as doing chores or being bodyguards. After several missions, most notably their mission to Wave Country as Tazuna the bridge builder's guards, Kakashi allows Team 7 to participate in a ninja exam in which they can advance to a higher rank, and thus, take part in more difficult missions. During the exams, Orochimaru, a criminal at the top of Konoha's most wanted list, attacks Konoha and kills the Third Hokage in an act of revenge. This forces one of the three legendary ninja, Jiraiya, to search for his former teammate Tsunade, who has been nominated to become the Fifth Hokage. During the search, it is revealed that Orochimaru desires to acquire Sasuke due to his powerful genetic heritage, the Sharingan. Believing Orochimaru will be able to give him the strength needed to kill his brother Itachi, who destroyed his clan, Sasuke eventually joins him after a humiliating defeat at his brother's hands. Tsunade sends a group of ninja including Naruto to make Sasuke return to Konoha, but Naruto is unable to defeat him and bring him back to the village. Naruto does not give up on Sasuke, however, and he leaves Konoha to train for two and a half years under Jiraiya's tutelage in order to prepare himself for the next time he encounters Sasuke.
As Naruto returns from his training with Jiraya, the criminal organization called Akatsuki from which Itachi is a member, attempts to capture the nine powerful "tailed beasts" that are sealed within people, including the Nine-Tails sealed inside of Naruto. Several ninjas from Konoha, including Team 7, fight against the Akatsuki members and search for their teammate Sasuke. Akatsuki is successful in capturing seven of those creatures whose hosts are killed in the process, except for Gaara, the host of the One-Tailed beast whose life is saved in time by Naruto and his companions. In the meantime, Sasuke betrays Orochimaru and faces Itachi to take revenge. After Itachi dies in battle, Sasuke is told by the Akatsuki founder and leader Tobi that Itachi was ordered by Konoha's leadership to destroy his clan to which he agrees with the condition of allowing Sasuke to be spared. Saddened with this revelation, Sasuke joins forces with Akatsuki to kill Konoha's superiors who orchestrated the Uchihas' elimination and destroy Konoha in revenge.
Meanwhile, as several Akatsuki members are defeated by the Konoha ninjas, their figurehead leader, Pain, invades the village to capture Naruto. However, Naruto defeats him and convinces him to abandon the Akatsuki. With Pain's eventual death, Tobi, while disguised as one of Konoha's founding fathers Madara Uchiha, announces that he wants to obtain all nine of the "tailed beasts" in order to perform an illusion powerful enough to control all of humanity. The leaders of the five ninja villages refuse to aid him and instead join forces to confront Tobi and his allies. This results in a fourth ninja world war between the unified armies of the Five Great Countries (collectively known as the "Ninja Alliance Army") and Akatsuki's forces. During the conflict, it is revealed that Tobi is actually Obito Uchiha, Kakashi's former teammate who was supposed to be dead, but he was saved by the real Madara Uchiha and has been working with him ever since. As Sasuke learns the history of Konoha, including the circumstances that led to his clan's downfall, he decides to protect the village instead of destroy it and rejoins Naruto and his comrades to stop Madara and Obito's plans.
